Membership

The Industrial Members Group (IMG)

IMG represents the Industrial Members of IALA, which comprise companies or individuals qualifying for IALA Industrial Membership according to Article 5 of the IALA Constitution.

IMG comprises 9 members elected at the General Assembly of Industrial Members held on the occasion of each IALA Conference. The IMG President should normally be from the country that will host the next IALA Conference.

The last Industrial Members’ General Assembly was held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on 1st June 2023, during which a new IMG board was elected.

The most recent IMG meeting took place from 12 to 16 February 2024, in Finland. The report is available here.

Regional representatives are responsible for keeping Industrial Members in their region informed of the activities of IMG and bringing to IMG’s attention concerns of Industrial Members in their region.

Among other things IMG:

  • informs the Industrial Members about all important decisions and events in IALA
  • maintains liaison with the IALA Secretariat and Council
  • organises an industrial exhibition at IALA Conferences and Symposia in collaboration with the host country
  • organises an industrial evening at each IALA Conference and Symposium

Code of Conduct for IALA Industrial members

The purpose of the Code of Conduct is to define the professional behaviors and actions which IALA Industrial members commit to maintain as members of the Association. The Code provides a framework for IALA Industrial members to ensure consistent standards of professional practice so as to uphold and enhance the reputation of the Marine Aids to Navigation profession. Consequently, the Code demonstrates to clients and the users of all types of Marine Aids to Navigation the high professional standards that IALA Industrial members work to.

IALA does not issue certificates of conformity with IALA standards to industrial members.
